A collaboration with art and architecture company Snarkitecture, the offset wick of this otherwise plain cylindrical candle suggests something unexpected beneath the surface. As the candle burns down, a metal souvenir is unearthed and a new and evolving topography of wax is formed. The image of a building in a landscape comes into focus. Each candle in the New York City edition of the Secret Souvenir series contains an Empire State Building, Chrysler Building or Statue of Liberty souvenir at random.
Notes of Prairie Dropseed, Water Lily, Tulip, Autumn Moor Grass, Cucumber and Blonde Woods, many of which can be found throughout the city’s parks.
Ingredients: natural soy and beeswax blend, vegetable oil, essential oil, fine fragrance, cotton wick.
Approx Size: 3" x 4". Approx Burn Time: 60 hours.
ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Joya: For when you actually have the opportunity to say: come on baby light my fire.
Joya is an independent fragrance design studio, producing innovating scents in the form of candles, perfumes and personal care items. Their hallmark is their collaborations with various artists and institutions to create unique signature products. Think a Katz’s Delicatessen candle with notes of chocolate syrup, whole milk and cold seltzer reminiscent of their famous chocolate egg cream (yum), or a candle designed by art and architecture company Snarkitecture, which melts to reveal a secret souvenir.
