Small serving board handmade from oak and cut from one single piece of wood. The wood in the BCM&T Co. blackline collection utilizes a natural reactive process to give it its distinctive dark finish. No pigments are used to create the black color. This unique technique makes use of the tannic acid inherent in white oak to develop a deep, durable, food-safe dye.
Each BCM&T Co. comes tempered and prefinished with the brand's own cutting board oil.

1) Clean: Use hot water and soap in the sink, and steer clear of any bleach or ammonia. To get out aromatic scents like garlic, use a vinegar wash combined with soap and water.
2) Oil: Oiling the board will keep the wood from drying out and cracking. Over time, oiling will build up a healthy sheen and workable protective coating. Apply a liberal amount of cutting board oil using a brush or clean cloth. Let sit overnight and wipe off any additional oil.
**The finish on the blackline products is resilient, however, it should be noted that highly acidic foods and tart berries may affect the finish if left to sit for extended periods of time.
