ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Suno: for when you had one of those days and know a sartorial pick-me-up is the first step to recovery.
Max Osterweis first conceived of Suno in 2008 after being inspired by his collection of Kenyan Kangas he had acquired throughout his travels. He and Erin Beatty, a Parsons graduate who had experience working at The Gap, decided to create a luxury collection of womenswear with a social conscience. Production takes place in Kenya, India, Peru and New York, and utilizes the local talent of each locale to create collections rife with unique prints and embroideries. The brand was also a 2011 and 2012 finalist in the Vogue/CFDA Fashion Fund and a 2012 Nominee and 2013 Winner of the CFDA‰۪s Swarovski Award for Womenswear.
